Traveling from Russia to the northern Arctic to visit the Chukchi people.
The Chukchi people live in extremely cold temperatures. The physical characteristics help them cope in these temperatures. They have short limbs giving them less surface area that might release too much heat. Their facial features are similar to Asians and Native Americans. Dr. Wells found that the Chukchi people our Native Americans' ancestors. A group of the Chukchi people traveled across Bering Straight, which was frozen at the time. They walked down to inhabit the Americas.

The Chukchi people are soley dependent on reindeer. These people herd reindeer and the reindeer provide them with food and furs. When the reindeer run out of food, lichen, they must move their homes to another location for the reindeer.
